When a business owner in Dubai asks Google, ChatGPT or Gemini to recommend a consultant, a web design company or a specialist service, the website has to do more than look polished. It needs to be discoverable, explain the offer clearly, establish why the business is credible and make the next step easy. I see SEO and AI search as one connected job for UAE businesses: make the right pages easy to find and make the business’s expertise easy to understand and verify.
The short answer is to start with technical access and clear service pages, then strengthen local proof, useful answer-led content and measurement. There is no special “AI ranking switch,” and no agency can guarantee a first-page position or a citation in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Perplexity. Google’s 2026 guidance says its existing SEO fundamentals still apply to its generative search features, with no extra technical requirement to qualify. Google’s May 2026 guidance on generative AI search stresses distinctive, valuable content and debunks common AEO/GEO myths.
It means your important pages can be crawled and indexed, match real buyer questions, explain your services and locations accurately, and support claims with evidence. Traditional search results, Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT Search and other answer tools differ in how they retrieve and present information. You cannot control their answers, but you can improve the quality, accessibility and clarity of the source pages they may use.
These are overlapping practices. Google’s spam policies specifically warn against scaled content pages made without added value. Publishing many near-identical pages for “Dubai,” “Abu Dhabi” and “UAE” without genuinely different service information is not a shortcut; Google warns that mass-produced pages with little added value can fall under scaled content abuse. Start with the actual commercial pages and improve those first.
Buyers increasingly ask full questions such as “Which HubSpot consultant in Dubai can help a 40-person IT firm improve lead follow-up?” rather than typing only “HubSpot agency.” A 2026 G2 survey of 1,076 B2B software decision-makers across North America, EMEA and APAC found that 51% started software research with an AI chatbot more often than Google, while 71% used AI chatbots for software research. This is evidence about software buying, not UAE service purchasers, so I treat it as a directional signal rather than a local forecast. The same report found 80% still used Google somewhere in their purchase journey. Read G2’s 2026 AI Search Insight Report and methodology.
For a Dubai or GCC service firm, the practical response is not to abandon Google. Make your website a strong, consistent source across search, social profiles, review platforms, professional directories and the conversations buyers have with AI systems. If your positioning is vague or your facts conflict across channels, an answer engine has less reliable material to work with.
A page that loads for you may still be blocked from indexing, hidden behind a script-heavy experience or missing from your internal links. Check the basics before rewriting content:
For ChatGPT Search, OpenAI distinguishes its search crawler, OAI-SearchBot, from its training crawler. Review the official OpenAI crawler documentation and decide the access policy with your website team. Anthropic likewise documents separate ClaudeBot, Claude-User and Claude-SearchBot purposes; blocking one does not necessarily mean the same thing as blocking another. See Anthropic’s current crawler guidance. Check official guidance for each platform you care about; crawler names and policies can change.
Do not change crawler access blindly. Decide what you want accessible for search, what you want excluded from model training and what should remain private. A public service page and a private customer portal should never be treated as the same asset.
A useful service page explains the problem, fit, scope, process, evidence and next step in plain language. For each priority service, make sure a buyer can quickly find:
Use the phrase “HubSpot consultant in Dubai” only where it describes the actual service and location. Add UAE or GCC coverage only where your delivery model supports it. Do not repeat a city name in every heading. Write the answer a prospective client needs, then support it with details that demonstrate how the work is done.
For examples of a service page connected to implementation, review our HubSpot services in Dubai and the HubSpot onboarding and implementation scope. The pages should work together: the article answers questions, while the service page helps a qualified reader evaluate fit.
Local SEO is not a matter of inserting “Dubai” into every paragraph. It is about making your real-world business details clear and consistent. For a UAE service provider, check that:
Use structured data only when it faithfully represents visible content and complies with the platform’s current rules. It can help machines interpret entities; it does not guarantee a rich result, a ranking or an AI citation. Keep addresses and service areas accurate rather than applying the same location markup to every URL.
Answer the main question near the top, then explain the reasoning and exceptions. Use descriptive H2s, short paragraphs, bullets for choices and steps, and tables when comparing options. Add definitions, dates, responsible authors and citations close to claims. A reader should be able to distinguish an observed fact, your recommendation and an example.
A practical answer-page pattern
This is editorial hygiene, not a trick for forcing citations. Microsoft describes AI visibility reporting as observational: citations indicate where a source appeared, not a universal ranking or quality score. Its 2026 Bing Webmaster Tools report groups citation activity by intent and topic and says the numbers should be read as visibility signals. See Microsoft’s 2026 explanation of AI citation reporting.
Before making changes, record a baseline for a consistent date range. Use Google Search Console for queries, pages, impressions and clicks; use GA4 for organic landing sessions and meaningful actions; use CRM data to verify which submissions become qualified enquiries. Segment Dubai/UAE where the data supports it, and distinguish branded searches from new discovery.
Google announced dedicated generative-AI visibility reporting in Search Console on 3 June 2026 and said the reporting had rolled out worldwide by 31 August. It includes impressions, pages, countries, devices and dates for generative AI features in Search and Discover. That helps track Google’s own features; it does not measure every assistant. For AI assistants, select a fixed set of genuine buyer prompts and check them on a documented schedule. Record the date, platform, prompt, whether Arcs & Curves appears, which URLs are cited, and which competitors or other sources appear. Answers vary by wording, location, user context and time, so one screenshot is not a ranking report. Keep observed citations separate from site clicks, leads and revenue. Use referral analytics and CRM attribution where available, while noting that a citation can influence someone who never clicks.
| Week | Work | Evidence to keep |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Check indexing, canonicals, sitemap, mobile experience and crawler access | URL inventory and resolved issue list |
| 2 | Rewrite the most commercially important service page for clarity and fit | Before-and-after page brief, sources, approvals |
| 3 | Strengthen business details, profiles, review evidence and relevant internal links | Profile audit and link map |
| 4 | Set Search Console, GA4, CRM and prompt-tracking baselines | Dated baseline with UAE filter where available |
If a website redesign is underway, preserve valuable URLs and analytics before launch. If your business is also improving lead capture, connect the enquiry process to a CRM and define who follows up; our HubSpot lead-routing guide for UAE and GCC teams covers that operational side. Our UAE website design brief checklist can help you scope a redesign before comparing proposals.
Make the relevant public pages crawlable, indexable and genuinely useful; explain your services and location accurately; support claims with reliable evidence; and maintain consistent public business information. Then track fixed prompts and cited URLs over time. Access and content quality improve eligibility, but cannot guarantee a mention.
AEO focuses on whether a useful, well-supported answer can be surfaced in answer experiences. It depends on many of the same foundations as SEO: accessible pages, clear structure, trustworthy information and relevant coverage. Google says there are no separate technical requirements for its AI search features.
No. Write FAQs when they help a person decide, and use structured data only when it accurately matches visible page content and current search-engine rules. Schema is not a guaranteed ranking or citation tactic.
There is no reliable fixed timeline. Crawling and indexing, existing authority, competition, technical health and the quality of changes all affect when signals appear. Establish a baseline, make changes in trackable batches and review relevant outcomes over several weeks and months.
Start with the highest-value service page: confirm it can be indexed, state who the service helps, explain the offer and evidence, make Dubai/UAE coverage precise, add a clear enquiry route and connect the form to measurement. Then repeat for the next important service.
SEO and AI search readiness is not a single plugin, schema type or keyword density. It is the discipline of making accurate, specific, useful information available to both people and the systems that retrieve it. For a UAE service business, start with crawl access, clear service pages, local proof, a helpful answer library and measurement that connects visibility to qualified enquiries.
